For Bare Feet, Inc. (FBF) is an Indiana based company with a global brand producing foot apparel for professional and college athletic brands and holiday novelties.
Sharon Rivenbank founded FBF in 1984 after her son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Having been told that his abilities would continue to diminish over time, Sharon sought to provide her son with a safe and secure environment for him to work where he could develop a sense of ownership and pride.
With one antique knitting machine and a small loan from her parents, Sharon opened the first For Bare Feet shop in Brown County, Indiana, and in 1986 the growing company moved into a large warehouse. Twenty years on and FBF is now a registered apparel licensee for the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL, and has even expanded their distribution with NBA International rights for Europe, increasing their exposure as a global brand.
In 2011 FBF experienced a setback when an air compressor caught fire, destroying their manufacturing facility. Determined to thrive, FBF forged ahead building a new facility with cloud backup ensuring secure, safe keeping of their data and designs as a top priority.
FBF turned to Polleo Systems to ensure their data and art designs were safe from disaster moving forward. Through consultation and evaluation of current systems in place, Polleo Systems utilized FBF’s existing backup solution while leveraging Polleo’s cloud platform for safe keeping of their data in a redundant, secure cloud cell.
The Polleo Systems’ team took an initial snapshot of the existing environment by utilizing an on-site appliance provided by Polleo to ensure safe data transfer. FBF’s environment is now replicated off-site securely while still enabling the backup of critical systems at multiple points throughout the day. The Polleo System team monitors these jobs to ensure the company’s data is successfully replicated.
By becoming a trusted partner of the FBF brand, Polleo Systems allows the team to focus on daily operations and production of a product that is top tier, while having the reassurance that their data is safe and secure and ready to combat any future disaster, human or natural, that may come its way thanks to reliable cloud solutions and having a robust disaster recovery plan in place.
